We are a team of three individuals from Turkey, Canada and USA/Czech Republic. This is our research project for our Master’s in Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability. We have just started this endeavor in collaboration with Enviu, an international network of innovators in sustainability based in The Netherlands. Enviu has launched the Open Source House design competition, which aims to provide more sustainable housing in low-income countries. Over the next few months we will be assessing ecological and social impacts of current housing in Cape Coast, Ghana, followed by informing the potential for solutions which award sustainability, affordability and cultural relevance based on local techniques and building materials. Hopefully our research will enhance the Open Source Platform for Architecture and the overall design space, as we will contribute our knowledge and discoveries that will bw accessible globally at no cost. Here we will document our process, progress, adventures in Rotterdam with Enviu and Ghana with Ghanaians and resources. Any insight is welcome in our aim to illuminate the potential of the present and into future. Merci
